Final conference of the Iron Curtain Trail project (SEE)
In order to present project results and development opportunities lying in cycling tourism along the Iron Curtain Trail, the South Transdanubian Regional Development Agency has organised the international project closing conference of the Iron Curtain Trail project (SEE) on 28 November 2014, with the participation of cycling and tourism professionals, local service providers and decision makers.

Final conference was hosted by the town of Mohács that is located at the intersection of the already popular north-south Danube route (EuroVelo 6) and the west-east running Iron Curtain Trail (EuroVelo 13).

Participants were greeted József Szekó, mayor of the Town of Mohács; Csaba Nagy, president of the Baranya County Assembly; video message was delivered by Michael Cramer, chair of Committee on Transport and Tourism of the European Parliament, founder of the Iron Curtain Trail initiative.

Conference speakers included Zsolt Becsey, vice state secretary for transport at the Ministry of National Development, presenting the role of cycling in National Transport Strategy; Adam Bodor, EuroVelo director of the European Cyclists’ Federation; Róbert Fetzer on behalf of the Ministry of National Economy on tourism development issues. In second half of the conference developed sustainable transport and tourism offers were presented in form of a round table moderated by Tibor Polgár, coordinator of the Iron Curtain Trail project, strategic director of the Lead Partner West Pannon Nonprofit Ltd.
