“Iron Curtain Trail” project promotional events on EuroVelo 13 cycling route during Ardas Youth Festival
Iron Curtain Trail project events are going to take place in the region of Ardas river, in the part that has recently been inserted into the EuroVelo 13 cycling route.

ANTIGONE - Information and Documentation Centre on Racism, Ecology, Peace and Non Violence, Greek partner of the South East Europe Programme “Sustainable mobility along the new EuroVelo route: The Iron Curtain Trail” project, in collaboration with the Ecological Movement of Thessaloniki, responsible for the National EuroVelo Coordination Center for Greece, is going to run a series of promotional events under the framework of Ardas 2014 20th Youth Festival that is organised by the Municipality of Orestiada (Kastanies and Ardas regions). The route has been  also supported by the European Parliament as well as the European Cyclists Federation. Furthermore, in Greece, the Prefecture of Eastern Macedonia and Thrace participates as observer (http://ict13gr.blogspot.gr/).

During Ardas Youth Festival, under the framework of Iron Curtain Trail events titled “Cycling in Ardas River: Sustainable mobility along newest EuroVelo 13 - Iron Curtain Trail cycling route”, the following events are going to take place: 

1.    Cycling in the route with the participation of cyclists from Greece, Bulgaria and Turkey, on Wednesday July 23rd 2014. The event is going to take place in collaboration with Risos cycling association in Orestiada, EDOSK sports club association in Edirne and other associations and organisations from Bulgaria and Turkey. 
2.    Cycling in the routes along Ardas river, provision of advice and tips for cyclists, free bicycle technical assistance as well as free provision of bicycles in collaboration with the collaborative enterprise “Greenways” from Thursday July 24th until Sunday July 27th 2014.
