Presentation of the ICT project on the conference organised by the Association of the Greek Tourism Accommodation, Rovies Lake, Greece
The Association of the Greek Tourism Accommodation in Rovies Lake (Evoia region) organised an one-day conference on Thursday November 14th 2013. Giorgos Farfaras, representative of ANTIGONE, presented the progress and the results so far of the “Iron Curtain Trail-Sustainable mobility along the newest EuroVelo route” project of South East Europe Programme.

 Furthermore, he referred to the creation of the cycling friendly services network “Cyclists Welcome Hellas” presenting the compulsory and the optional criteria concerning the participation of accommodation services in the network. Giorgos Farfaras also mentioned the meaning of the existence of quality services along a European EuroVelo cycling route.

During the conference, among others, presentations were held by the Hellenic Society for the Protection of the Nature, the Hellenic Society for Acoustic Ecology and the Hellenic Ornithological Society. The discussion that followed took place with the participation of representatives of local authorities, cultural associations and rural cooperatives of the region. Namely, the Tourism Promotion of Evoia Region, the Tourism Directorate of the Vice Prefecture of Evoia, the Development Association of Northern Evoia, the Hotel Association of Evoia, the Federation of Rent Rooms of Evoia, the Hotel Chamber of Evoia, tour guides and other tourism professionals, all participated in the conference.
