Presentation of the ICT project on the touristic forum of InTourAct and CCC
On 13th of March 2013, a regional touristic forum has been organized in Szombathely, Hungary within the framework of the projects InTourAct ( Integrated Touristic Action Plans in the SEE region ) and CCC (Cultural Capital Counts). The project Iron Curtain Trail has been presented to touristic organisations, development agencies, municipalities and other stakeholders from Vas county, Hungary.

On 13th of March 2013, a regional touristic forum has been organized in Szombathely, Hungary within the framework of the projects InTourAct ( Integrated Touristic Action Plans in the SEE region ) and CCC (Cultural Capital Counts).

In the project InTourAct, 11 partners from 7 countries work on developing and promoting sustainable tourism in the area. The main goal of CCC is to foster regional development based on local cultural capital, 10 partners form 6 countries cooperate in the project.

The meeting was opened by Kovács Ferenc, the president of Vas County Assembly, stating that tourism in Hungary is not yet ready for challenges of the 21st century. The task is to change this. He presented the outcomes of his visit to Berlin and the main touristic developments of the County Vas (Projects PILGRIMAGE AT-HU, Határtalan vándorlás - alpannonia®; Natur-Kulinarium, FUTUR). Mr. Kovács emphasized to implement these jointly with other projects going on the area. He also encouraged all participants to consuét and make suggestions to the Regional Development Strategy of the county that is being elaborated currently - www.vasmegye.hu).

Participants of the meeting included touristic organisations, development agencies, municipalities and other stakeholders from Vas county, Hungary – they presented on-going projects and future project ideas in order to find synergies and possibilities for co-operation. The project Iron Curtain Trail was presented by Westpannon Ltd on the event.

As a result of the meeting, participants agreed to go on with this form of co-operation, that is, to have regular meetings for linking their touristic offers, developing and promoting them jointly.
